Welcome

Prior to beginning a therapeutic relationship, it is crucial to find a clinician who feels like the right fit for you and your family. Dr. Karp is pleased to offer a brief complimentary phone consultation prior to scheduling appointments in order to help determine whether she may be the right fit for you and your family. Dr. Karp enjoys working collaboratively with families to ensure that their goals are being reached in treatment, a process that begins during the first meeting.

Insurance

Dr. Karp is not contracted with any insurance companies and is an out-of-network provider. Dr. Karp may come up on your insurance because of her previous employment at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. This is not applicable to Dr. Karp’s current services. You are responsible for full payment of fees at time of service. However, your insurance company may reimburse you for a portion of your payment, depending on your eligibility. There is no guarantee that insurance companies will approve your claim; please contact your insurance company directly to inquire about your out-of-network coverage for therapy and assessments. Please contact Dr. Karp for more information about her current rates. Reduced fee services for those experiencing financial hardship are available on a limited basis.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
