As a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) trained psychologist, Dr. Karp (she/her) uses a strengths-based, individualized approach to work collaboratively with families to set and reach goals for treatment. She is passionate about working with parents who are concerned about their child or adolescent’s challenging behaviors. Whether these concerns are related to attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or anxiety disorders, Dr. Karp provides specialized, evidence-based support for parents and their children. Dr. Karp also has expertise in the assessment of ADHD and ASD and in helping individuals with ASD and co-occurring anxiety disorders.

Dr. Karp is a licensed psychologist who has trained and worked at some of the top academic medical centers in the country. She received her PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle and completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in the school of medicine and the TEACCH center. She completed her APA-accredited postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University in the school of medicine in the division of child psychiatry. Dr. Karp previously served as a psychologist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

In addition to her private practice, Dr. Karp is also an adjunct lecturer at Stanford University in the school of medicine where she provides supervision for psychology interns in their APA-accredited internship program. As a component of Dr. Karp’s commitment to evidence-based care, she also continues to participate in clinical trials research and serves as an ad hoc peer reviewer for scientific journals.
